Monica attended Cameron University, where she graduated in 2003 with an Associate’s Degree in Science. She went on to receive her Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2005 and her Masters of Science in Nursing with Honors from the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center.

From 2005-2007, Monica worked as a charge nurse at Southwestern Medical Center. She joined the Cleo Craig Clinic, which became part of the Cancer Centers of Southwest Oklahoma, in January of 2007 as a Chemotherapy Nurse. In 2011, a need developed for a Chemotherapy Research Nurse and Monica became the first at CCSWOK. In 2017, she transitioned yet again, this time becoming an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse- Adult Gerontological Clinical Nurse Specialist.

Monica is a member of the National Oncology Nurses Society (ONS), the Oklahoma Society of Clinical Oncology (OSCO), the Oncology Nurses Central Oklahoma- ONS Chapter, the Oklahoma Association of Clinical Nurse Specialists (OACNS), and a member of the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing. Monica sees patients at the Cancer Center in Lawton.

Monica resides in Cyril with her husband Dustin and children Mackenzie and Brody. She enjoys watching her children play sports and spending time with her family and friends. She also enjoys attending OU football games, gardening, and cooking. Monica is also bilingual; Spanish was her first language.
